Pixelink Releases 7MP Model in 10GigE Industrial Camera Series: High Dynamic Range with Sony 3rd Generation Pregius Sensors

Ottawa, ON Canada, December, 8, 2020 – Pixelink, a global provider of industrial cameras for the machine vision and microscopy markets, released today the second model in their 10 Gigabit Ethernet series. The Pixelink PL-X957 model features the 7 MP Sony 3rd generation Pregius IMX420 CMOS image sensor and covers a 1.1” area.

A key feature of the Sony IMX420 sensor is a Dual ADC mode, where each pixel can be read out with two different gains. Dual ADC images are combined into a single hybrid HDR image, directly on camera - thus removing the need for any host processing. Real time on camera HDR is an easy way for the user to gain 6-10dB of additional dynamic range on their image without taxing the CPU or requiring additional complex software algorithms.

The PL-X957, available in color or monochrome, is ideal for high dynamic range imaging applications requiring high resolution, fast frame rates, and high quality, low noise images. Additional specifications include pixel pitch of 4.5µm, frame rate up to 112 fps, and dynamic range of 70 dB.

Lisanne Glavin, General Manager at Pixelink, A Navitar Company, comments, “We are pleased to roll out this next model in our 10 GigE series. Also coming soon will be the PL-X9520, a 20 MP with Sony IMX531,  and the PL-X9524, a 1.2” format, 24 MP model with the Sony IMX530.”

With a 10GBase-T interface and 4th generation Sony Pregius sensors, these cameras offer high bandwidth, high quality images making them ideal for multi-camera synchronization, automated inspection, and VR/AR applications. Additional camera features include optional Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and IEEE1588 clock synchronization (PTP). Contact Pixelink for additional information.
