PixeLINK® Capture OEM software is a demonstration image capture application built around the PixeLINK® API and is available via web download. You can download the latest version here.
Disconnect your PixeLINK cameras and close all PixeLINK software.
Download Capture OEM from our website here.
Run setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Restart your computer.
Once restarted, re-connect the camera. Note: Ensure that the driver is in the Device Manager, and that there is not a yellow exclamation point on the icon to the left. If there is, then you will need to manually install the driver.

PixeLINK USB 3.0 cameras are compliant with the ‘USB3 Vision Standard’. As such, you can develop your own camera applications using either the PixeLINK Software Development Kit (SDK) or a 3rd party vision development platform that is also compatible with the USB3 Vision Standard. We continually test our cameras against a number of these platforms, including MATLAB (from MathWorks), LabVIEW (from National Instruments, using their IMAQdx drivers), and HALCON (from MVTec).
If you only intend to use the PixeLINK camera using one of these platforms (or similar), then you do not need the PixeLINK SDK.
Yes, PixeLINK® has a Linux version SDK (API/Driver) to use with our USB 3.0 cameras. Our FireWire cameras can function on a Linux platform using DCAM compliant software and our Gigabit Ethernet cameras can function using GEV compliant software. Please contact Support to obtain our Linux SDK.

The Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 or 3.0 standards provide high bandwidth interfaces that are well-suited for digital imaging, and are well-established and popular serial interfaces in use. USB 2.0 or 3.0 ports are widely available on a variety of hardware platforms, including Macintosh and PC systems, and a variety of laptop, desktop, and small form factor (embedded) systems. This availability maximizes system compatibility and minimizes the need for add-in PCI or PCI Express interface cards. More details can be found in the PixeLINK® Knowledge Base.
