Due to recent growth and expansion, PixeLINK, a provider of digital cameras for the machine vision and life sciences markets, is looking for a Embedded Engineer to join the team.

The successful candidate will be an embedded software engineer with 5+years of hands-on experience. This candidate will have a solid understanding of C/C++ programming and experience in either/or device driver development and DSP programming experience. The ideal candidate will have their degree in either electrical engineering or computer science.

Experience Required

• C and C++ programming experience, with x86 assembly programming being an asset 
  
• Experience developing for real time operating systems , on a variety of platforms   
  
• Experience developing device drivers
  
• Experience with logic analyzers, packet and protocol sniffers/analyzers
• Excellent diagnostic and communication skills
  

Experience Desired

• Expertise with networking and application protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP,  etc.)
• Experience with communication LAN and bus technologies (Ethernet, USB, IEEE1394, HDMI, etc...)
• Experience implementing and analyzing real-time protocols
• Experience developing tools useful for customer problem analysis
• Experience with imaging and video standards ( JPEG, YUV-encoding, MPEG4/H.264,  etc...) 
• Familiarity with enterprise or service provider network infrastructures
  

In this role, there will be two aspects to the work. The main responsibility will be to work closely with the key architects in designing, implementing, integrating and testing core components. In addition, you will be responsible for assisting the team in developing various device drivers for our cameras.

This position would also have a significant on meeting the performance objectives. Having in depth and current knowledge in software development methods and optimization techniques would be an asset our pursuit of achieving our performance goals.
